Trade Port impressions of Kuta
German Beach in the south Kuta - near Tuban - initially in Kuta is the port where traders from outside Bali berth. Name Tuban in this area came from the merchant from the town of Tuban in East Java, they anchor and build community here. They moor the boat at the port and trade in the area around Kuta beach which is the most popular at this time.
The name of the German coastal regions appear because the population is a German citizen housing in Kuta.
But now the ports and housing is no trace at all. There is still a shrine where they come when pray. Meanwhile, former ports and housing have been erased out of sea water.
History of the port can be read from Pierre Dubois's report, Deputy Government Dutch East Indies who live in Midrand in April 1827. In the report, he gives an overview about political developments in Bali and the events that occurred in Kuta.
Pierre Dubois in civiel gezaghebber office as the Government of the Netherlands, are allowed to stay in Kuta, which is the most important ports in South Bali at that time. Kuta(formerly called Coutaen) is the port where the distribution of imported goods export of produce areas of South Bali.
Kuta area is in the jurisdiction of the kingdom Kesiman. In carrying out their duties in the Badung, Dubois received assistance from King Kesiman. Dubois told that the port of Kuta on the west coast and the East Coast inhabited by a population consisting of a mixture of people of Bali most fishermen and traders in China and Bugis.
In the report, Dubois told that when the Kuta inhabited more than 400 families and 40 families Bali China and Bugis. Among families living in Bali Kuta, many of them are fugitive from the kingdom because of a lodge. With living in Guildford, trying to avoid the penalty imposed against them. Therefore, the population comprises a mixture of many tribes, it often happens in Kuta crime such as theft, robbery and murder.
Kuta's other situations also told a trader from banyuwangi named Mr. Jembrong. On 20 May 1835, he departs from Banyuwangi to the island of Bali and then head to Lombok. He arrived in the West Kuta beach on 18 August 1835.
According to the report Mr.Jembrong, Kuta at the time it is a bustling port and seems to be a trade center of Bali with Singapore. At the time it arrived at the seen are about 40 boats anchored, including 16 new boat arrived from Singapore.
These boats carrying goods from Singapore, consisting of opium, iron goods, cloth, gambier, weapons, ammunition., a coin made in China and other goods made in Britain.
In the 19th Century, Mads Lange ,a Danish origin, also set up a trade office in Kuta. Through the ability negotiation, he became one of the famous brokers. Now, Mads Lange is one of the icons of Kuta.

The committee of the contest said that the tourists are waiting for this contest/show, they are very enthusiastic. This unique competition is divided into two categories, namely men and women. Total participants of the competition a total of 6 men and 5 women who all come from Australia.
They will compete four children pig tails off in the arena. Arena, which is surrounded by cloth the size of 15 x 15 meters into the pigs are not required to exit the arena. The participants were all men with power efforts to pursue the pigs. Even a number of participants should be willing falling awake during the chase pigs.
Perhaps because of fear, the pigs is run anywhere and trying to flee. However, in a time not so long that all pigs can be caught by the men who average a hefty.
Different things happen in the women's competition, the pigs are silent and would not flee. Maybe pigs are ashamed and fell in love.

A holiday in Bali
On October 1st 2008, the moslem in Indonesia celebrate Lebaran. Because many of Indonesian people is moslem (Indonesia is not a moslem country, it is a multiculture country) the day become holiday. In some island who has many moslem, the holiday is 1 week starting from September 28 until October 4.
Because i currently live on the island (java) where there are many moslem, i got 1 week holiday too. Then, i spend my holiday in Bali. Yippee, i came home.
With my sister. I rent a car to go to Bali. The trip took 1 night. Depart at 6 PM and arrive at 6 AM. There are no traffic jam. Just a little bit. I arrive in my home at 7 AM. I take a rest for a while and i go take a bath.
At afternoon, i go for a walk. Looking for what the changes from the last time i came home. Not to different. But, Bali is getting more crowded. Maybe because this is holiday so there are people who go to interesting place (yeah, there many interesting place you can visit on Bali).
I just having fun for 1 week. No college stuff that makes me upset. Or any problem with the Surabaya's roads (I hate Surabaya's roads because it's air pollution). After 1 week, i came back to Surabaya.
Facing back the college stuff and my final project which until now havent i finished.
